When the Covid-19 lockdown was announced, business partners Kirti Kamal and Dasen Sarugaser were wondering if they might be forced to close their business, Food by Kirti but what transpired was a pleasant surprise!
“Our Facebook and Instagram marketing attracted customers who were tired of cooking for themselves each day. Since they weren’t going out to work, the lines between work and home became blurred, so they started ordering our home-style meals to perk up their days. We also catered for a number of small family-centred birthday parties,” commented Sarugaser.
Desserts are a particular specialty made by Food by Kirti and a peek at the company’s Facebook feed shows how special these mouthwatering confections can be! A few delectable examples include vanilla crème patisserie profiteroles and cardamom baked cheesecake squares topped with sevai halva or white Belgian chocolate and pistachio tarts.
Kamal previously owned a restaurant, which has proved to be an excellent background when it comes to designing client-focused menus. Food by Kirti accepts orders for as many as 100 guests although with the current restrictions there hasn’t been much call to cater for bigger events.
