Husband and wife teams don’t come stronger than Patrick and Lya Mrasi, who have demonstrated determination, perseverance and true grit in their business journey. Now at the five year mark, Earthstone Engineering has preferred supplier status with a large private hospital network to provide turnkey management for construction projects.
“After an arduous process which lasted three years, we finally graduated from very small jobs such as replacing a few tiles to more substantial projects. And once we were engaged in these larger contracts such as upgrading wards, we realised that there was an opportunity to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) as well. Because of the relationship which we had cultivated with the group, they were receptive to our idea and now we regularly supply safety gear to the staff,” commented Lya Mrasi.
Since Earthstone Engineering is a principally a project-based company, the team has been kept to a minimum.
“That said, it’s important for us to be able to trust our sub-contractors and we have supported and groomed a number of teams who work for us on a regular basis. A good example is the cleaning team which we use before we hand over a project. The high standards demanded by a hospital have served them well and we have no hesitation in recommending them to other contractors,” she said.
During its time at Riversands Incubation Hub, Earthstone Engineering has become more formalised and professional and the Mrasi team has seen the business flourish.
