Inspired to follow his dream of becoming an entrepreneur, Riversands entrepreneur Tumi Lesolang established North Star Reputation Management in January 2016 after being in the public relations industry with a leading agency for a number of very productive years.
“The right moment came and soon after I opened my doors, I was approached to be the South African representative of a UK-based public relations agency. By November of 2016, I was able to hire an employee to help share the load since my work in media relations had taken off. The relationship ended in 2018 when the company established a local office in Cape Town,” explained Lesolang.
In those early years, North Star Reputation Management numbered high-profile organisations such as Rand Water Foundation and the SA Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA) among its clients, producing exceptional brand-building results for them.
Fast forward to 2021 and having moved to Riversands Incubation Hub more than a year ago, Lesolang reveals that his number one passion in life is to offer high-quality large format digital printing products and services such as banners, gazebos, vehicle branding and building wraps in-house. “I established a subsidiary called North Star Branding Concepts and we recently took delivery of a large format digital printer which enables us to offer a wide range of stunning and innovative branded solutions to clients. I’ve often had to reject jobs after outsourcing them, so I’m looking forward to offering my clients the best possible service now that I’ll be in control of the production,” he commented.
North Star Reputation Management also offers professional media training workshops with well-known media personalities. “Depending on what clients require, we take advantage of various professionals’ skills,” said Lesolang.
Lesolang is effusive in his praise of the support he receives from Riversands Incubation Hub. “The team truly demonstrated that they have our backs. Project Reignite was a real game-changer for me – it allowed me to get through the lockdown and now I’m looking forward to growing my business even further. I have some ideas to offer to the market in the pipeline which I know will be well received,” he concluded.
